Behavior Support Coordinator
Behavior Support Consultant
The Wood County Educational Service Center's Behavior Support Consultant service partners with school districts to promote positive student outcomes by providing comprehensive behavioral consultation, coaching, and professional development. This service is designed to strengthen school teams, enhance learning environments, and build staff capacity to effectively support students with behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs.
Behavior Support Consultant collaborates with administrators, teachers, intervention specialists, school psychologists, and support staff to assess behavioral concerns, develop proactive intervention strategies, and implement evidence-based practices that improve student engagement and success across academic and social settings. Services include consultation in conflict resolution, classroom management, behavior intervention planning, and the development of positive, relationship-centered learning environments.
To further support district staff, the ESC offers customized professional development, in-class coaching, and assistance in areas such as behavior management, Physical Aggression Avoidance Response Remediation (PAARR), trauma-informed practices, de-escalation strategies, paraprofessional training, and other topics tailored to district needs. By building educator confidence and consistency, Behavior Support Consultation helps schools create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
