Here is some information regarding Applying or Renewing

Applications will be kept on file at the WCESC for two years for the following positions:

  • Aides/Paraprofessionals
  • Gifted
  • APE (Adaptive Physical Education
  • Misc. (Secretarial)
  • Student Secretary
  • OT/PT (Occupational/Physical Therapy)
  • Psychology
  • Social Services
  • Special Education Teachers
  • Speech/Language/Hearing

 

Please contact the local school districts ( Eastwood, Elmwood, Lake, North Baltimore, Northwood and Otsego) and fill out their application (ex. Math, English, Elementary, Early Childhood, Social Studies Teachers, etc). The individual districts arrange interviews and hire for their Teacher - Para Professional positions. In addition, applications are accepted for special education programs located in the Bowling Green City School District, Perrysburg Exempted Village School District, and Rossford Exempted Village School District.

 

Position:    Potential Intervention Specialist/ Special Education Teacher (ED)

Description:Directs and evaluated the learning experience of the ED students in all activities sponsored by the district. Enables the students to reach their fullest physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential.

Qualifications: -- Appropriate State of Ohio  Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate or Moderate /Intensive)and BCII/FBI less than 365 days old.

Position:    School Psychologist

Description: Facilitates the adjustment of children through the use of psychological techniques. Contributes to the understanding of their learning difficulties, environmental constraints, and social and emotional problems. Advocates for children's welfare and utilizes available school and community resources to meet each child's needs.

Qualifications: -- Appropriate State of Ohio School Psychologist Certification and BCII/FBI less than 365 days old.

Position:     Potential Occupational Therapist (Full-Time)

Description: The occupational therapist provides either direct services to children or serves as a consultant or monitor of children in the area of occupational therapy. The occupational therapist is responsible for assessment, planning, and goal development and for providing appropriate intervention services designed to enhance the student's potential for learning. The therapist assists the students in acquiring those functional performance skills needed to participate in and benefit from the educational environment, and to help the student function independently. A collaborative teaming approach including teachers, specialists, and parents is emphasized.

Qualifications: -- Appropriate State of Ohio Occupational Therapy licensure and Ohio Occupational Therapy Board License as well as a BCII/FBI less than 365 days old

Position:      Physical Therapist (Part-Time)

Description: The physical therapist is responsible for assessment, planning, and goal development and for providing appropriate intervention services designed to enhance the student's potential for learning. Position:          Paraprofessional/One-on-One

Description: To provide educational support including tutoring, classroom management, organization of materials, and computer assistance for students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.

Qualifications: -- Paraprofessional License required.  Must have 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours or can take parapro test  -- BCII/FBI ( less than 365 days old)


Position:         Sub Paraprofessional

                        (as of 1/1/2017, pay rate will be $65 for a full day; $32.50 for a half-day)

Fingerprinting for the National FBI and BCII can be processed through the Wood County ESC by appointment only.  Please contact Alicia Leslie at 419-354-9010 to set up an appointment.

The BCII  cost is $25.00 for substitute/new hire or area school employees.  All others are $30.00.

The FBI cost is $42.00.

CASH -- correct amount is greatly appreciated -  (no large bills as we cannot make change) or Money Order made out to Wood County Educational Service Center. 

A valid Ohio drivers license or an Ohio ID from the Dept of Motor Vehicles is required for the BCII.

If you do not have an Ohio drivers license and need both background checks, you will need to get the BCII & FBI done by the Wood County Sheriff's Office (419) 354-9006 -Amy Taulker.   Be sure to tell them your results need to be sent to the Ohio Dept of Education electronically and get a copy for yourself.
